What is Democracy?
Direct Partipatory Democracy Portal
We are under construction as you can tell. We will offer a community forum, links to government sites that list the Bills (legislation that is currently on the floor of the House of Representatives), a place to vote on those bills, a place to suggest and vote on legislation the people would like their vote counter(representative) to bring before the house and basically anything we can think of that people willing to participate in their government want. Stop back when we will have it set up so you can register to vote eh.

DPD VolunteersI'm not asking for volunteers just yet. I figure I can show people where to find out what legislation is on the House Floor such as by going to the sites listed here without any help: http://www.congress.org/congressorg/issues/bills/ http://clerk.house.gov/floorsummary/floor.html Normal 0Next I'll get it set up where persons interested in participating can sign up to the site and vote on what legislation I can develop polls for and be able to see how the people are voting compared to their congress-critters. Then people like the idea of voting on laws and appropriations of the peoples money rather than voting on stiff bought off people that do what lobbyists and rich people want, the next step is to get enough signatures to get some DPD candidates on the 2010 ballots. Now that will take a few volunteers. Without the stick and carrot of cold hard cash directly in front of people's noses to get them to volunteer will they be able to see that such a system as the Direct Participatory Democracy approach to governing ourselves will make them far happier and prouder than they ever have been? Once we get this project up and running you will know when and why to volunteer so we can get our nation back from political carpetbaggers eh. Probably all you'll have to do when you volunteer is to collect signatures to get people who will implement Direct Participatory Democracy and cast the vote of the people on the ballot. Hey if this does not work and people want to sit in front of their TV and let people that are not much more honest and loving than Genghis khan on mammon steroids run our nation into the ground at least they can't say I didn't try to make this country a better place.
Last Updated (Friday, 12 June 2009 16:51) Of the People, By the People and For the PeopleIf you want to go to work for subsistence wages just enough to pay your rent, electric bill and maybe a six pack of beer to sit on your couch mesmerized by your TV set, you have the government you deserve. When your friends and loved ones die because they could not afford the health care they needed while insurance company executives make hundred million dollar a year denying people the health care they paid for, those profiteers of sickness death who bought your representatives got a great return on their investment. And what about the Pentagon? Since the wars in Afghanistan and Iran started more than one arms dealer made over a billion dollars. I can agree to disagree so if you say we were attacked on 9/11/2001 and the wars are justified then where is Bin Laden the CIA operative who is supposed to be responsible for that attack? Maybe you think that more war is the answer? Maybe you are a religious fundamental conservative that believes a woman's choice to have an abortion is murder? Has anybody ever given you a chance to vote on laws, policy and appropriations that reflect your beliefs and moral stance? I'll admit that I am liberal which means I believe in liberty. I am progressive which means that I believe the wealth has been redistributed to people who serve no purpose toward the health, well being and longevity of their fellow man. I also own a gun and a chainsaw. None of us deserve to be categorized and classified as belonging strictly to liberal or conservative idioms. We are individuals who have individual views an each individual issue. If you look at how much money candidates spend to get into office and the reality that the top one percent of the US population has more monetary clout than the lower 90 percent you can understand that you nor I have no real vote. The reason I'm doing this is because I want my on out of 300 millionth of a say and I'm not getting it within our system as it is. If the issues and the laws do not go my way I can live with that so long as we have a democracy rather than a government sold to the highest bidder. Okay that is the end of this rant for now...

DPD Site Guidelines
To participate actively: meaning to be able to add writing, web links and other information to the site; you will have to register supplying a name, address and email. You will then receive a pass word which will allow you to join in the forums and post writing just like many web sites do. We will need volunteer moderators and administrators as the DPD site grows toward it's full potential. At the beginning it will be a free for all meaning we don't care if your from Tim Buck Two or China let alone Alabama. If one of us actually get elected the DPD sites that follow will require proof of residency and voter eligibility to participate and people without those qualifications will be purged from the membership rolls so only those eleidgible will be able to vote and propose legislation to be sponsored by the Representative vote counter.
